Vladimir the Great consolidated his people by converting to Christianity in 987AD year. As doing so he united all the people and replaced all the dialects with one language which in fact was the sacred Bulgarian language mistakenly called church-Slavonic.

So for some people "sclavus" can be pronounced in 2 different ways :
1. Pronouncing letter "c" as "k/K" or "q/Q"
2. Pronouncing letter "c" as "s"
In the second way we have "sslav" i.e. "slav". This is how the word Slav became a name of the people that was enslaved. Unfortunately those people are :
- Serbians the name in Roman maps is Serves - that is the first word "servus" in Latin language and means slave, after that the word "sclav" was used.
After the Bulgarians lead by Asparukh and later Tervel etc. the Balkans was taken from Roman empire and access to servus/slaves in Serbia/Serves was not possible, so the source for slaves for Roman empire was headed North of Danube river.
Such source of slaves was the Veneti/Venedi teritory now it is in countries Chech , Slovak, Slovenia, Romania and Hungary also know as Panonia and Great Moravia in different centuries. Also they migrated to Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.
The Veneti was know as bad soldiers and easy to enslave. When was Justinian the Great the Veneti was mentioned as the people of Slovenia, Slovak, Chech and even Poland countries, all those are blonde or have a lot of blonde genetics. But also there was a war between Bulgaria on Volga river and Hazar kaganate from the east. As a result the territory occupied by Bulgarians and Huns (known to be called Honugunduri Bulgars/Bulgarians - from there is the short name Huns) - territory from Poland to Russia including and all the north of Danube river, also known as the Hun empire of Attila (who in 600 - 900 years was replaced by Bulgarian country) was not possible to be protected. It is not possible to be protected even today unless all the people/countries are not united to do so. As a result the territory from Poland to Caspian see up to Volga river was used for the source of slaves for Romans and Arabs slave trade bazaars. In fact the Kievian Rus was created to prevent such people kidnapping and enslaving for those trades. As a result the people Sclaveni tribe was a source of such enslavement and the name/enslavement spread to others like Veneti (known to be blonde people). They moved to live in Kiev and Belorus and Russia (in today borders in Europe of those countries). Also there was word sakalibi means slaves but it was used by the Arabs.
This is how the word sclav means slave and is the origin of the English word slave and the Roman.
So there is no such ethnic group/tribe Slavs/Slavens/Slaveni and therefore there is no church-Slavonic language . Also it is Bulgarian language and those people was speaking different dialects of Bulgarian language (now called old Bulgarian language). However the development of the science was not happening in the middle ages and this is in 21 century information that clarifies the mistaken word Slav.
This is what you need to know for the Russian Church it is Bulgarian Orthodox Church with Greek Rite and Bulgarian language and secret language and books.
Also another mistaken word is the Byzantine empire. There was not such , the word comes from Byzantine city which Constantine the Great renamed to Constantinople and became the capital of East Roman empire and the name remained in history. Although the communist regimes in USSR and Bulgaria did not care much for the historical accuracy and are known that communist historians was payed propagandists and no
t true scientists so that word became in use - a big mistake and it is hard to remove.
NOTE: TL;DR For those who did not get it: date of Russian/Ukraine/Belarus first Christian Church at 987AD year, which is later then Bulgarian alphabet and Church by at least 100 years i.e. accordingly 864 AD year (Bulgarian sacred alphabet Glagolic) , 870AD year (Bulgarian independent Church was recognized)

987 - 870= 117 years later after Bulgaria Kievan Rus was Christian and sill use Bulgarian alphabet and Christian Church NOT GREEK.
It is IMPOSSIBLE TO TRAIN PEOPLE TO READ AND WRITE IN ANY SACRED LANGUAGE AND TRANSLATE FROM ANY SACRED LANGUAGE TO "RUSSIAN" (which in fact is old Bulgarian) - so the gospels to be used FOR ONE YEAR i.e. 987 to 988 (The date of Vladimir baptism). Vladimir Churches just used Bulgarian gospels and just some priests was reading them (that is possible to learn how to read).
PS: As a matter of fact the English word God is Bulgarian Bog i.e. "бог" (in Bulgarian is lower case letters only) , but it was read backwards in Greek i.e. "гоб" - the letter "б"(sound as Be) is in Greek alphabet the letter delta lower case "δ". The Bulgarian manually written letter Be/"б" is written exactly as delta i.e. "δ". All the other "G" and "o" are the same. So we have "гоδ" = "god" - God.
